Other TDS Return Filings

There are several types of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) returns that need to be filed based on the nature of the payment and the recipient. Here's an overview of the common TDS return filing forms:

  • Each form has a specific purpose based on the type of payment and the residency status of the recipient.
  • These returns are generally filed quarterly, except for Forms 26QB, 26QC, and 26QD, which are transaction-based.
  • It is mandatory for deductors to file these returns within the prescribed due dates to avoid penalties.
  • The due dates for quarterly TDS returns for the Financial Year 2025-26 are:
    • Quarter 1 (April to June 2025): July 31, 2025
    • Quarter 2 (July to September 2025): October 31, 2025
    • Quarter 3 (October to December 2025): January 31, 2026
    • Quarter 4 (January to March 2026): May 31, 2026
  • For Forms 26QB, 26QC, and 26QD, the due date is generally 30 days from the end of the month in which the TDS was deducted.

It's crucial for deductors to identify the correct form applicable to their transactions and file the TDS returns accurately and on time through the TRACES portal or other authorized means.
