GSTR - 7
GSTR-7 is a monthly return that must be filed by individuals or entities who are required to deduct Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime in India.
Format and Contents of GSTR-7:
GSTR-7 has the following sections:
- GSTIN: Your Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN) will be auto-populated.
- (a) Legal Name of the Deductor: Your legal name will be auto-populated. (b) Trade Name (if any): Your trade name, if registered, will be auto-populated.
- Details of the tax deducted at source: This section requires you to provide invoice-wise details of TDS deducted, including:
- GSTIN of the deductee (supplier).
- Amount paid to the deductee on which tax was deducted.
- Amount of TDS deducted under Integrated Tax (IGST), Central Tax (CGST), and State/UT Tax (SGST/UTGST).
- Amendments to details of tax deducted at source in respect of any earlier tax period: If you need to make corrections to previously filed GSTR-7, you can provide the original and revised details here.
- Tax deduction at source and paid: Here, you will declare the total amount of TDS deducted (IGST, CGST, SGST/UTGST) and the amount of tax actually paid to the government.
- Interest, Late Fee payable and paid: If there is any interest or late fee applicable on the TDS amount due to delayed payment, you need to provide those details here.
- Refund claimed from electronic cash ledger: If you are claiming a refund of any TDS amount from your electronic cash ledger, you need to specify the details and provide your bank account information.
- Debit entries in electronic cash ledger for TDS/interest payment: This section will be auto-populated after you have made the payment of TDS and any applicable interest.
