Steps to Obtain an IEC:

  1. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC):

    • Obtain a Class II or III DSC for the authorized signatory.
  2. Registration on DGFT Website:

    • Register on the DGFT website using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  3. Login to DGFT Portal:

    • Log in to the portal using your credentials.
  4. Apply for IEC:

    • Click on the "Apply for IEC" option.
    • Fill in the required details:
      • PAN details of the firm
      • Bank account details
      • Authorized signatory details
      • Nature of business
      • Import/export activities to be undertaken
  5. Document Upload:

    • Upload the necessary documents, including the DSC.
  6. Verification and Approval:

    • The DGFT will verify the application and documents.
    • Upon approval, the IEC will be issued.
