How to Get PMEGP Subsidy for Your Business
PMEGP (Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme) is a government scheme that provides financial assistance for setting up new micro-enterprises in manufacturing and service sectors.
Eligibility
✅ Individual aged 18 years or above
✅ For projects above:
- Manufacturing: ₹10 lakh
- Service: ₹5 lakh
The applicant should have passed at least 8th standard.
✅ Self-help groups, registered societies, charitable trusts, and production co-operative societies can also apply.
Project Cost Limits
- Manufacturing Sector: Up to ₹50 lakh
- Service Sector: Up to ₹20 lakh
Beneficiary Contribution
- General Category: 10% of project cost
- Special Categories (SC/ST/OBC/Minority/Women/Ex-servicemen/PHC/NER/Hill & Border Areas): 5% of project cost

Application Process
Step 1: Prepare a Project Report
Include:
- Business details
- Investment requirements
- Expected revenue and expenses

Step 2: Apply Online

Step 3: Upload Documents
Required documents generally include:
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Educational qualification certificate
- Project report
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Special category certificate (if applicable)
- Address proof
Step 4: Application Verification
Your application is reviewed by:
- KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission)
- DIC (District Industries Centre)
- KVIB (Khadi and Village Industries Board)
Step 5: Interview/Screening
A district-level committee may evaluate your project proposal.
Step 6: Bank Loan Sanction
After approval, the application is forwarded to a bank for loan sanction.
Step 7: EDP Training
You must complete an Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) training.
Step 8: Subsidy Release
After loan disbursement and verification, the subsidy amount is credited to the loan account as margin money.
